About the Master of Arts in Financial Integrity
Launched in Fall 2016, the Master of Arts in Financial Integrity is an intensive program that gives working professionals a unique and comprehensive education in anti-money laundering, counter-terrorism, counter-proliferation financing policies and related integrity initiatives.
The MAFI program is the first of its kind offered by a major research university. Unlike the many available certificate programs, our Masters Program gives students an in-depth, 360 degree understanding of anti-money laundering and financial integrity – from roles and practices of bank customer acquisitions to compliance officers, government regulators, prosecutors and dozens of other key positions that play an integral role in preventing financial crime.
MAFI students will learn the full arc of financial integrity from leading academics and practitioners including current and former executives from the IMF, OCC, the World Bank, FinCEN, NATO, multinational corporations and major banks and financial institutions.
After completing the MAFI program, our students are uniquely positioned in the job market to work in financial institutions, regulatory bodies, and other government agencies.
To obtain the MAFI degree, students must successfully complete eight courses for a minimum of 30 credits, including a capstone thesis project.
2017-2018 MAFI tuition rate is $2,104 per credit hour. ACAMS members will receive a 5% discount on their tuition.
Courses will be conducted through a series of intensive sessions on Friday through Sunday, once per month for 16 months. While the classes will be taught in person, students have the option to participate in some of the class sessions via video conferencing.
Course Offering and Application Deadline
The New York area MAFI cohort is anticipated to begin September 2018 and go through December 2019. Applications for the September cohort will open in Spring 2018.
